my name is Coleen Jones. I have been searching for relatives in the Harbour Grace area. My grandfather Edmund John Brown died in the first 500 in Beaumont Hamel. I can not find the whereabouts of any relatives. I am hoping someone can provide some information.

Thanks for that info. My grandfather signed up as Edmund, but during the course of his service became Edward. So that is the correct person. Sorry , but I don't understand the name Goodridge and where it came from, if that is correct how I am reading your response.I thought there was one daughter from a previous marriage, but have not been able to confirm.

Colleen,
Is it possible that Goodridge is Ann's family name .....family names of the wife
were often passed down to the children....I have Davis (my Grandmother's maiden name)
as my middle name....this was done a lot in NFLD and other places, but I have seen it
often in NFLD names...is there anyway you can find out??
Glad to find some info and will continue to look ...happy searcing!!
