Hello, this site have been fantastic in my research, but there is still a long way to go.
The main line I am tracing is Whelan.

I have heard that the Brigus Whelan's may be from Ireland. I am heading to Ireland in a few weeks and would love if anyone has any information re this. Thanks!! :D

Can anyone tell me why I am getting a message that says my message contains too few characters. It seems odd that it would force you to type a long message

If you search Whelan wills you will find a will from Walter Whelan of Brigus and in it you will find a reference to Carrick on Suir. However I have a lot of information on the names you reference and I could find no relation between the Whelan I referenced from the will and the names you listed who are all married of Descendants of Wm Whelan, late 1700's of Brigus. If you can trace your names back to Ireland I would be interested. Its generally accepted that the Brigus Whelan's are from Ireland but I can't confirm.

Thanks so much for your reply. I will continue the Ireland search.

Would you be willing to share the Wm Whelan and family info that you have so that I can see if there is info I am missing?

Thanks again!

My grandfather was Michael Whelan, his father was John Whelan. Just starting out on my Whelan search. I don't know if this is the right family though.
