Hi
I have just found out my grandfather William Cousins was deported from Nfld to England in 1930 with his 3 youngest children, as he was found guilty of selling illict liquour from his Confectioners shop in New Gower Street. He pleaded his innocence until 1933 when I lost track of him. Has anyone else come accross anything on my family. William had several children, the four youngest were sent to Belvedere orphanage in about 1927 the eldest Leo stayed in Newfoundland and the next youngest Lucy went to Illinois and stayed there. When my grandmother was alive (she died in 1926) the family lived in 20, Southside East. William also lost a son aged 12 of meningitis while in Belvedere.
Any help would be good.
thank you
