My great uncle, Jacob Taylor (b. James Cove 1875, d. Bonavista 1954) married Caroline Haines in James Cove (now Jamestown), Bonavista Bay, 19 Dec 1900, according to original Brooklyn Parish records. Caroline was born in James Cove on 24 July 1878. She was the daughter of George Haines (b. Kelligrews 1848, d. Jamestown 1916) and Elizabeth Jane Dawe, possibly from Upper Gullies. Caroline died at Bonavista on 18 June 1932 from pulmonary edema. Jacob and Caroline had one child that we know of, Jacob George (b. 1909, place of birth unknown, died at Bonavista in 1981).
James Cove was renamed Jamestown in 1903.
Hope this helps.
