Hi, I am not related but enjoy searching! This info. came from my Aunt who loves to research. Hope this may help!
Grace Chapman, 1795-1850, of John and Sarah Chapman, Harbour Breton, married Robert Simms of Harbour Breton (who was from Bridport, Dorset). Robert and Grace (Chapman) Simms had, among other children, a son named Benjamin Simms. It seems clear that Benjamin Chapman was Grace’s brother and therefore a son of John and Sarah. Then there was a William Chapman, Harbour Breton, who had a son William in 1842. Perhaps the father, William, was a brother of Grace and Benjamin, or he may have been a son of William and Ann. It is highly likely that William Chapman (married Ann) and John Chapman (married Sarah) were brothers. A Martha Chapman married in 1879, at 23, Charles Rose, 21, of Great Harbour. Would she have been a granddaughter of William and Ann? (Note that William and Ann named a daughter “Martha” – so the name was in the family.) Benjamin Chapman, born 1800, of Harbour Breton, married in 1828 Eleanor Tibbo of Grand Bank, born 1806, apparently a daughter of Jonathan Tibbo and Susanna Hickman. Ben and Eleanor had Emily Hickman, 1828; (?Ben, died in infancy); Priscilla, 1832; Phoebe, 1835; Lydia; Sarah, circa 1843; Benjamin; Henry, circa 1841; George and John, twins, born around 1838; and Jacob, the youngest. (Lydia married in 1858 Francis Holman, merchant’s clerk, Harbour Breton.)
