Hello, I guess that sooner or later we are all curious about our ancestors, roots etc. My Grandparents, Edgar and Susannah Kendall met and married in Halifax, NS but were both originally from Ramea and Cul de Sac respectively. At my Grandfather's funeral in 1977 I did meet 2 of his brothers, Tom and Ivan. That being said they perhaps remembered me as a baby but then my Mother moved us to Toronto. Information about the Kendall side is possibly accessible, however my Grandmother Susannah Eliz. Cornish Kendall is a story missing many pages. My Mother and her siblings have never met any Cornish family or even know of them. As far as I can see from this site(census), her parents were James and Caroline Cornish and she did have at least 4 siblings. My grandmother (Suzie) passed away in 1994(aged89) before I had the opportunity or inclination to ask her about her family beginnings in Nfld...where I have never been in fact. My Mother and her husband did visit St John's to be married 30 yrs ago as a tribute to my grandparents heritage but I know that she did not look for Suzie's family at that time. I guess this is a stroke in the dark but perhaps something will come of it & I hope to visit Newfoundland in the next year or two at long last...one of the 3 provinces I have never visited in Canada. Good luck and blessings to all. Bonnie

Hello Bonnie,
You and I share the same great great grandfather. I am looking at my Ramea's Family Tree book by the 2 Victor Kendalls. Please email me at skendall@bellaliant.net because this could be a lengthy reply. The Kendall family are prolific lot. Regards, Shirley

John Cornish (22) married Rebecca Neil (19) 2 Sept 1898, Rencontre, C of E
Rebecca Cornish died 20 Dec 1907, East Cul de sac, age 28, TB
John Cornish (33) widower, married Mary Agnes Green (19) 30 Aug 1909 Rencontre, C of E.
NL records I have available to me don't have birth records beyond 1898, it would take a while but I might be able to find John Cornish and Rebecca Neil, depending if the church records are available, it was voluntary before 1891 for churches to provide their records to the government.
