Hi, my name is Susan G. I've recently developed an interest in genealogy, specifically the Woolfrey family of Moreton's Hr. and the Steele family of Musgrave Hr. and Carmanville. I will be posting questions concerning these families in the hope that someone else will be able to help me connect the dots. I have a lot of information that I am willing to share with others. Hopefully, someone out there has an interest in these families too!

Hi Susan,

The Woolfrey family orig of Wareham, Dorset has been extensively researched by a number of Notre Dame Bay researchers. I am not related but have files on many NDB families, and would be happy to share in case there is a marriage, baptism, or death that you may not have.

I don't have information on the other families that you listed. Contact me off the list
at njillmarshall@aol.com

My grandfather Rex Alexander Rowe Born Oct. 6, 1921 in Seldom come By, died April 28th, 1998 in Embree via Lewisporte, Notre Dame Bay. He was buried by Woolfrey Funeral Home in Embree and knew Gordon Woolfrey well. I am looking for more information on relatives of Gordon Woolfrey in hopes of adding some light to my search. Rex was originally married to Annie Murphy (Edwards McManus) of Grand Falls who died in 1953 on Botwood highway, 3 miles from Grand Falls of a hit and run, as far as I know. Rex and Annie had one child together as far as I know (my mother Mary Bridget Patricia Rowe) also nicknamed Bridie. Annie (my grandmother) had 4 last names and I have no idea why. I do know that Annie Rowe Murphy Edwards Mcmanus (not necessarily in that order!) also had a son named Gordon Joseph Edwards who died Dec. 5, 1939. I am so confused! Any help would be much appreciated! My grandpa was awesome and I miss him every day! Why he did not talk to us about this I am not sure. But I would very much like to know what could have happened? Thanks so much and have a wonderful day all! :)
