Quidi Vidi (Quidi Vidi Village) is an old neighbourhood in the far eastern end of St. John's. It is located on a Gut where the waters of Quidi Vidi Lake empty into the Atlantic Ocean. It is also the site of Mallard Cottage, "the oldest small wooden dwelling in North America that has never changed structurally", thus has been designated a National Historic Structure.(s:Craig Peterman)
