St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery
Anglican Cemetery Rd., Portugal Cove

 

 

This is only a partial transcript. From memory, the cemetery is surrounded by a page-link fence with a black wrought iron gate. It is perched on a little hill and well kept at the forefront; but very overgrown towards the back.

It can be found on the aptly named Anglican Cemetery Road. The first burial here, that of Nathanial Picco, was in April of 1897. Mr. Picco drowned while wooding at the Blast Holes. Burials stopped in 1975.

    In loving memory of Jacob MILLER died March 1st, 1950, aged 76 years, erected by his son & daughter.
  7. White marble headstone:
    Erected by Georgina in memory of her loving husband Ambrose MILLER who departed this life June 6th 1938, aged 43 years.
  8. White marble headstone with cross:
    We'll meet again, in loving memory of Elizabeth MILLER beloved wife of James DROVER, who died Sep. 26th 1948, aged 71 years.

    In loving memory of Myrtle beloved daughter of Jacob & Sarah MILLER, died May 3, 1936, aged 12 years, 10 mons. Erected by father, mother & brother.
  12. White marble headstone, names have been filled with gold paint:
    In loving memory of Sophie MILLER beloved wife of Eli HAMMOND, died April 22nd, 1945, aged 68 years,
    also, Eli HAMMOND died Jan. 28th, 1958, aged 89 years.

    Evelyn MILLER 1938-1942, darling child of Ananias & Alice MILLER.

    In loving memory of Theodore MILLER born Jan. 9, 1910, died March 4, 1975.

    In loving memory of Sarah Mary (Sally) MILLER born Aug. 25, 1912, died June 30, 1991. Ever remembered by Keith, Myrtle and family.
  16. White marble headstone, names have been filled with gold paint:
    In loving memory of Elizabeth Jessie died Aug. 31st, 1935, aged 7 years, darling child of Walter & Mary K. MILLER.
  17. White marble headstone:
    In loving memory of Hilda died Nov. 10, 1903, aged 13 years, Thomas died Mar. 11, 1911, aged 3 months, children of John & Jane MILLER.
    Also in fond memory of their son Harold, R.N. Reservist, who took part in the great war and was lost at sea from H.M.S. ClanMacFarlane, Dec. 30, 1915.

    In loving memory of Thomas MILLER who died May 30, 1920, aged 87 years.

    In loving memory of Samuel MILLER died Sep. 13th, 1946, aged 72 years.

    In loving memory of Robert MILLER died Oct. 24th, 1952, aged 81 years, and his wife, Dora died Jan. 7th, 1941, aged 67 years.
  25. Square, white marble headstone:
    In loving memory of my dear father Jacob MILLER died Aug. 5, 1923, aged 79 years.
    In loving memory of my dear mother Sarah Jane MILLER died Dec. 13, 1918, aged 72 years.

  29. Caroline (HIBBS) MILLER died March 2, 1977, aged 87 years.
